Euro Car Parks is an expanding Company providing specialist car park management services throughout the UK to a wide range of blue chip clients. Our Head Office is based at Dorset Sq (nearest tube Baker St)
Reporting to the Finance Controller, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for providing operational day to day management of the Purchasing function, ensuring that a cost effective purchasing work programme is developed and maintained to achieve financial savings and value for money.
The role will be very hands on and you will become the pivotal linchpin between internal departments, external suppliers and 3rd parties, coordinating the operational success and adding commercial gain for the business through the reduction in total acquisition cost, improved supplier performance and ensured continuity of supply within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure that processes, systems and organisational support are in place so that the supply chain can be well controlled and managed, meeting the requirements of the business
• Develop procurement contracts, monitor and review processes to ensure continuous improvement
• Review, write and negotiate all aspects of contracts
• Coach and develop the team to improve the technical and professional competence of the department. Set objectives and targets, monitor performance, validate and provide key input in purchasing strategies.
• Advise and work with Operational Area Managers to achieve satisfactory procurement results
• Produce management reports
• Measure and improve supplier performance using KPI's and creating supplier development plans
• Identify and realise short term cost reduction opportunities and create an approved suppliers list
The ideal candidate will:-
• Have experience and a proven track record of delivering significant cost reduction through the use of appropriate sourcing, contract management and supplier management tools and techniques.
• Have at least 4 years Purchasing or Supply Management experience, have considerable interpersonal skills including leading and motivating a team and have up-to-date knowledge of purchasing procedures
• Ideally be qualified to degree level or equivalent and be a member of the CIPS.
• Be a pragmatic and charismatic person with a 'can-do' attitude, capable of winning respect through persuasion and demonstrating ability. Self motivated, with the desire to lead and motivate others in the team
